Obituary
Ruth Wixom, 91, of Mendota died Dec. 25, 2015, in Serenity Hospice and Home, Oregon, Ill.
Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with the Rev. Michael Morrell officiating.
Cremation rites will be accorded later with burial of ashes at Restland Cemetery, Mendota.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services Tuesday in the funeral home.
Ruth was born April 11, 1924, in Mendota to Peter and Ida (Lamps) Eiberger. She married Richard "Dick" Wixom on Jan. 15, 1943.
She was a graduate of Mendota High School. She was employed as a secretary by Mendota Community Hospital, Sunrise Nursing Home and Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Mendota before her retirement.
She is survived by three daughters, Susan Wixom of Normal, Cheryl Reeder of Princeton and Karen (David) Hara of St. Petersburg, Fla.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on July 19, 1999; and one brother, Eldon Eiberger.
Memorials may be directed to Serenity Hospice and Home or the donor's choice.
