Samuel Musser, 85, of 1507 Guiles Ave., Mendota died Aug. 28, 2007, in Mendota Lutheran Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Merritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Gale Brandner officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today in the funeral home. Mr. Musser was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Sublette to Isaac and Nettie (Clink) Musser. He married Ruth Heinzeroth on Sept. 20, 1949, in Mendota. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Mendota. He worked for Burlington Northern Railroad, Conco Inc. and Hume Inc., as a welder. For 29 years he worked in the bindery department of Wayside Press, later Combined Communication Services, until his retirement in January, 1990. He is survived by his wife, Ruth of Mendota; three daughters, Linda (Raymond) Karstens of Mendota, Kathleen (John) Clark of Mendota and Diane (Kristen) Waller of Galesburg; seven grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren; three sisters, Ila Blevins of Mount Morris, Laura Johnson of Mendota and Mabel (Clifford) Geuther of Mendota; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Memorials may be directed to Mendota Lutheran Home or American Heart Association.
