Sandra "Sandy" Stevenson, 70, of Mendota died June 1, 2015 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 5 at First United Methodist Church, Mendota with Rev. Michael Morrell officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 4 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.

Sandy was born June 16, 1944 in Spring Valley to Gerald and Mildred (Humphrey) Hatton. She married Richard Stevenson on Dec. 15, 1963 in LaSalle.

Survivors include her husband of Mendota; one son, Rick (Tina) Stevenson of Mendota; two daughters, Suzanne (Bradley) Latta of Amboy and Kristy Kaiser of Mendota; eight grandchildren; her mother, Mildred Hahn of LaSalle; and one sister, Jeanne (Jerry) Kenyon of Los Angeles, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her father; her step-father, Clarence; and one nephew.

Sandy was a graduate of LaSalle-Peru High School and St. Mary's School of Nursing in LaSalle. She was employed as a registered nurse at St. Mary's Hospital, Mendota Community Hospital, St. Anthony's Hospital in Rockford and St. Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley. She also worked in the Mendota office of Dr. Su and the Peru office of Dr. Grivetti. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mendota and the Red Hat Society.
