Sharon Mae Funfsinn, 87, of Mendota, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Allure of Mendota. She was born February 2, 1939, in LaSalle, the daughter of Joseph and Sophia (Ryba) Meuser. She married Kenneth Funfsinn on December 4, 1976.
Sharon attended Hall Township High School, LaMoille High School, and Rockford Beauty Academy. She worked at Wayside Press before entering the Beauty Academy. She started in business with Barbara Long in Fashionette Beauty Salon in 1959. She sold the salon in 1977 and worked out of her shop in her home for five years. She then worked at Floralcrest and Krenz Dental for 13 years. She was a member of the Starved Rock Hairdresser Association, Mendota Community Theater, Mendota Hospital Auxiliary and worked in the hospital gift shop for 40 years. She enjoyed bowling at Bowl Air Lanes for many years. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Along with her husband, she was a member of the Minneapolis Moline Tractor Club.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Kenneth; sister, Marilyn Weeks of Van Orin; brother, Michael (Marilee) Meuser of Ladd; and special friend, Brian Near.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Rachel Heisten.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Peterstown with Father Greg Nelson officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will follow in Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.
