Sharon D. (Larsen) Nurnberg, 79, of Oglesby and former longtime resident of Mendota, passed on February 17, 2023 at Heritage Health, Mendota surrounded by all her family.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Sandy Smith officiating. Visitation will be held form 9:30 a.m. until time of services.

Sharon was born April 15, 1943 in Aurora to Howard and Marjorie (Wach) Biehl.

Sharon grew up in Hinckley and attended Hinckley High School. She worked at Ziggie's Family Restaurant in Mendota from 1975 until her retirement. Many knew she was a force to be reckoned with. She had a huge and giving heart especially when it came to her family.

Sharon is survived by her children Jim (Shelby) Larsen of Mendota, Melody (Jim) Stremlau of Oglesby, Kevin Larsen of Oglesby and Bart Larsen of Mendota; 3 brothers and 3 sisters; 7 grandchildren Joshua Larsen, Alyse (Max) Briddick, Anthony (Janessa) Larsen, Krista (Jordan Gunia) Miller, Amber Knox, Karli Larsen and McKinzie Larsen; 6 great grandchildren and the father of her children Bob Larsen of Mendota.

She was preceded in death by her father Howard Biehl and her mother and stepfather Marjorie (Arnold) Larsen and two grandchildren Dank Miller and Dusty Miller.
