Shirley Capola, 88, of
Rock Falls, formerly of Sublette,
died Aug. 31, 2014,
in CGH Medical Center,
Sterling.
Services will be at 11
a.m. Wednesday in Merritt
Funeral Home, Mendota with the Rev. Bo Schmitt officiating.
Burial will be at Holy Cross
Cemetery, Mendota.
Visitation will be one
hour prior to services
Wednesday in the funeral
home.
She was born June 12,
1926, in Ripley, Miss.,
to John Henry and Janie
(Besinger) Thomas. She
married Gene Capola on
July 28, 1945, in Chicago.
She is survived by three
granddaughters, Kelly
Howse of Las Vegas, Nev.,
Candace Langley of Rock
Falls and Nicole Chapman
of Mesa, Ariz.; three greatgrandchildren,
Alexis, Kylie
and Zachary; and one sister,
Betty Hefner of Tupelo,
Miss.
She was preceded by her
husband on Nov. 19, 2004;
one son, Michael; four
brothers and one sister.
Memorials may be directed
to Hospice of the
Rock River.
