Shirley Ann Seng, 81, of Mendota passed away July 26, 2017 in her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m., in the First United Methodist Church, Mendota with Rev. Hogun Kim officiating. Burial will be in Wisner Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8 p.m., at the church and one hour prior to the services on Monday. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is handling arrangements.

Shirley was born March 10, 1936 in Mendota to Harold and Luella (Stevenson) Sibigtroth. She married Maurice D. Seng on June 21, 1953.

Shirley was a member of The First United Methodist Church where she served many years as church secretary, belonged to the UMW, and volunteered as chairman of the funeral dinner committee.

She loved baking cookies, sending cards to people, proudly volunteering in the Mendota community and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her two sons Mike (Delpha) Seng of Yorkville and Scott (Sue) Seng of Mendota; two daughters Cheryl (Al) Jansen of East Peoria and Cathy (Tom) Burke of Mendota; son in law Jim Eich of Paw Paw; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and her brother Roland Sibigtroth of Earlville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Maurice in 2002, daughter, Janet M. Eich in May of 2017, and two granddaughters, Jennifer and Emily Seng.
