Shirley Jean Till, 96, of Mendota, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Allure of Mendota.

Private family only services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Mary Bohall officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded after and private burial will be held at Restland Cemetery at a later date. Public visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.

Shirley was born November 14, 1927 in Toledo, Ohio to Claire and Hester (Jones) Hall. She married Ray Till on April 8, 1949.

Shirley was a homemaker and enjoyed spending her free time doing needlepoint, playing golf and bridge and traveling with her husband.

Shirley is survived by her daughter Nancy (Jerry) Spitz of LaMoille; her son James (Pat) Till of LaSalle; two granddaughters Jenny Till and Kelly Moore and two great grandchildren Hudson Moore and Penelope Moore.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1999, grandson Justin Till and a brother Robert Hall.

Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church in Mendota.
