Shona Marie Espinoza, 52, of Mendota died Jan. 13, 2012, in her home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Cross Church, Mendota with the Rev. Gary Blake officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. She was born April 11, 1959, in Belvidere to Roger and Rosemary (Burke) Rainwater. She married Jaime Espinoza on Jan. 1, 1983. She graduated from Mendota High School in 1977 and La Salle Beauty School in 1979. She worked at Sam's Steak House and Elks Lodge 1212 for several years and most recently worked at Sullivan's Foods in Mendota. She also ran a daycare in her home for many years. She is survived by her husband; one son Burke Espinoza of Bloomington; three daughters, Jamie Espinoza of Bloomington, Monica Espinoza of Mendota and Anna Espinoza of Mendota; one granddaughter, Olivia Rose Marie Arteaga; her mother, Rosemary Rainwater of Mendota; two sisters, Melissa (David) Furar and Michelle (Brian) Quest of LaMoille; two nieces and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, and paternal and maternal grandparents. Memorials may be directed to the family.
