Stanley T. Wolfe, age 84, of Mendota, Illinois, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, in Mendota.

Stanley was born on September 23, 1941, in Mendota, Illinois, the son of Carl and Eva (Neighbor) Wolfe. In his younger years, Stanley worked as a bartender at the Chatterbox, where he became well known to many in the community. Over the years, he was also employed as a security guard at Motorwheel and Wayside Press. Stanley was a familiar and friendly presence around town, known especially for sitting on his porch, waving to everyone who passed by, and taking joy in feeding the squirrels that gathered nearby. He had a wide circle of friends and was always glad to see a familiar face.

Stanley became disabled following a car accident, but he remained deeply connected to his community and the people around him.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army, a commitment he held in high regard throughout his life.

Stanley is survived by one brother, along with several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with his wishes, Stanley will not be cremated and will be buried at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Maywood, Illinois. Interment will take place at a later date.
