Steven Charles "Grizz" Lemmer, 69, of Mendota, Illinois, passed away on April 27, 2024.

Services will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Brace officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until time of services.

He was born on October 7, 1954, in Mendota, to Delmar and Elaine (Becker) Lemmer.

Steve was well-liked by the community and retired from Hart Carter after over 20 years of employment. He had a passion for gardening; planting vegetables and beautiful flowers, earning him recognition from the Mendota Garden Club for having the Garden of the Month. Steve also enjoyed spending time outdoors and fishing.

He is survived by his girlfriend of 20 years, Angie Swan-Wheeler of Mendota; his daughter, Stephanie Jones of LaSalle; grandchildren Kyle and Sommer Parrott; siblings Dan Lemmer, Mary Lemmer, Teresa Ostewig (Lemmer), Peg Danielson (Lemmer) and Lori Miller (Lemmer).
