Terry Lee Ramer Sr., 66, of Mendota died July 19, 2016, in St. Anthony's Medical Center, Rockford.
Visitation will be 3:30-7 p.m. Friday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. Cremation rites will be accorded after visitation.
Terry was born Aug. 2, 1949, in Harrisburg, Pa., to Paul Albert and Romaine (Diehl Magnuson) Ramer, Sr. He married Ruth McLaughlin on Aug. 30, 1969.
He was the owner and operator of Terry's Auto Repair in Mendota. He was the longtime promoter of the Mendota Custom Car Show and also a member and president of Mendota Cruisers Club. He attended the Mid Florida Tech school, where he studied to be a diesel mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth of Mendota; one son, Terry Lee (Ann) Ramer Jr. of Marquette Heights; two daughters, Penny Lynn (Daniel) Novlan of Mendota and Tammy Lynn (Jason) Sprowls of Memphis, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, Paul (Carol) Ramer of Mendota; one sister, Linda (David) Rapp of Mendota; and his loving dog, Maggie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Jeff in infancy, Mike Magnuson, Rick Ramer and Larry (Red) Ramer.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to his wife or the donor's choice.
