Theodore W. Swope, 93, of Mendota died Jan. 8, 2011, in Mendota Lutheran Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Sue Eckhoff officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota with military rites by VFW Post 4079. Visitation is one hour prior services Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Swope was born Jan. 30, 1917, in Amboy to William and Eva (Graf) Swope. He served with the U. S. Army in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. He worked as a mechanic at Prescott Brothers Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep Inc. from 1947-1979. He was a 60-year member of Lee Center Masonic Lodge 146. He is survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters. Memorials may be directed to Mendota Lutheran Home.
