Theresa Fay Rowlett (Hix-Holmes) 62 of LaMoille passed away November 17, 2018 at her home with her family by her side.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Jerry Graham officiating. Burial will be private at a later date. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m., in the funeral home.

Theresa was born on August 2, 1956 in Aurora to Robert & Faith (Hayes) Hix, Sr. She married Gerald Rowlett May 22, 1999 in Sandwich.

Theresa attended Oswego High school. She worked many years in customer service for she loved working with people. Theresa spent many Saturday nights in the stands of Sycamore speedway cheering for her husband. She enjoyed playing bingo on Wednesdays with her daughters at the Mendota Moose Lodge. She was one of Mickey Mouse's biggest fans. Theresa has devoted her life to her husband, her girls and grandkids. She will always be remembered for her firecracker personality, practical jokes and sharing a quick moon at family functions. The family would like so send a special thanks to the staff at Hospice Compassus, Alternative Healthcare, the Doctors and staff at OSF medical group, and the Illinois Lung Institute.

Theresa is the wife to Gerald (Jerry) Rowlett of LaMoille; mother of Tracy (Andrew) Holmes-Altman of Lincoln, NE., Tina (Joel) Holmes-Preston-Hoff of Mendota and Tammy (Steve) Holmes-Woods of Hope Mills, NC.; 19 grandkids Nicholas, Daniel, Emma, Damian, Christian, Alex, Brandon, Nathan, Lauren, Justin, Malik, Savannah, Javon, Dante, Evan, Emalynn, Raven, Payten and Hayleigh and her sister Tanya (Kim) Butler of Ohio, Il.

She was preceded by her parents and a brother Robert Hix, Jr.

Memorials may be directed to the Illinois Lung Institute.

A celebration of Theresa's life will be held at Mendota VFW Post 4079 following the funeral service.
