Thomas John Lovgren, 65, of Arlington, IL., passed away October 16, 2023 with his son by his side.

He was born on August 2, 1958 in Mendota to Louis and Marjean (Brown) Lovgren. He married Bonnie Sue Robinson on September 9, 1977 in LaMoille.

Tom lived his life on his terms and deeply loved his wife Bonnie. Tom retired from the village of LaMoille after 20 years of service. He was a volunteer on the Arlington Fire Department for over 15 years, 12 of which he was the Lieutenant. He also volunteered on the LaMoille Ambulance Department as a First Responder for 20+ years.

He was preceded in death his wife Bonnie Lovgren in 2018, his father Louis Lovgren, his mother Marjean Lovgren, his brother Charles Lovgren and his sister in law Cathy Lovgren.

He leaves behind 4 children, Matt (Robin) Lovgren, Angela (Shaun) Bullington, Melanie (Eric) Engel, and Laura (Rich) Shumway, 10 grandchildren, Macee (Trevor), Louie, Alex, Alivia, JT, Lily, Owen, Corbin, Astrid and Raya. He is also survived by 3 brothers Dave Lovgren, Doug (Gail) Lovgren and Mike (Hazel) Lovgren and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held October 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Community United Methodist Church of LaMoille with Rev. David Jungnickel officiating. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is handling arrangements.
