Tim D. Walzer, 30, of Mendota died Aug. 8, 2011, in his residence. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in ImmanuelLutheran Church of Compton. The Rev. Jamie Wallace will officiate. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. Mr. Walzer was born Sept. 14, 1980, in Mendota to Robert and Karen (Schmidt) Walzer. He graduated from Mendota High School in 1998 and formerly was employed by Superior Ambulance in Brookfield as an emergency medical technician. Survivors are one daughter, Madison Walzer of Mendota; his mother, Karen (Sonny) Sterchi of Mendota; his father, Robert (Melinda Stephenson) Walzer of Mendota; three brothers, Dan (Tania) Walzer of Plainfield, Andrew (Victoria) Walzer of Sycamore and Brian (Tiffany McDonald) Walzer of Ottawa; his paternal grandmother, Barb Walzer of Mendota; his maternal grandparents, Don and Velma Schmidt of Mendota; one nephew and four nieces; and Morgan Thompson, half sister of Madison Walzer. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Paul Walzer, and one cousin, Toby Walzer. Memorials may be directed to a trust fund to be established for Madison Walzer.
