Vuna L. Schultz, 92, formerly of Mendota, died March 1, 2012, in Alamo Nursing Home, Kalamazoo, Mich. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. Burial will be at Elm Lawn Cemetery, Princeton. Visitation will be two hours prior to services Tuesday in the funeral home. She was born Aug. 29, 1919, in Kentucky to Lloyd and Izural (Reed) Alsman. She married Harry E. Schultz on Dec. 26, 1942, in Perkins Grove. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Mendota. She farmed for several years with her husband in the LaMoille and Amboy areas. She worked at Northbrook Grade School in Mendota in the cafeteria. She also worked at Hart-Carter on the combine reel assembly line. She is survived by one son, Dennis (Gaydene) Schultz of Mendota; two daughters, Sharon Schultz McLaughlin (Joe) Hagerman of Gobles, Mich., and Janice Rodatz of Hickory, N.C.; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993; two brothers, two sisters and her son-in-law, Charles L. McLaughlin in 1996. Memorials may be directed to Alzheimer's Association or Alamo Nursing Home.
