Obituary
Wanda J. Burton, 57, of Compton passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 8, 2021 at Rochelle Community Hospital.
Private family memorial services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Susan Presley officiating.
Wanda was born August 18, 1963 in Rochelle to Terry and Marian (Hoelzer) Neal. She married Harold Burton May 17, 2008.
Wanda worked Ryder Logistics in Rochelle for 13 years. She loved horses and owned several that she enjoyed raising, training and riding.
Wanda is survived by her husband Harold of Compton; her daughter Seneca Schneider of Compton; her father Terry (Kris) Neal of Compton; her mother Marian Neal of Compton; two brothers Adam (Karla) Neal and Laen (Katie) Neal both of DeKalb; granddaughter Ivy Wagner of Compton and two step sons Chris (Laura) Burton of Malta and Tyler Burton of DeKalb.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Memorials may be directed to a humane society of the donor's choice.
