Warren E. Gillispie, 66, of
Mendota died Oct. 13, 2012, in
Mendota Community Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m.
Thursday in Merritt Funeral Home,
Mendota. Burial will be at Millington-
Newark Cemetery, Millington.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday
at the funeral home.
Mr. Gillispie was born Feb. 17,
1946, in Chicago to Bill and Dolly
(Huetson) Gillispie. He was employed
by General Mills in West Chicago
before his retirement.
Warren was a very generous and
compassionate man. His social life
was primarily his family and his love
of music and dance. He also was an
avid bowler. He was greatly loved
by his family and friends and will be
deeply missed. To quote his children,
"He was the greatest man that ever
lived."
He is survived by one son,
Michael (Hope) Gillispie of Mendota;
one daughter, Gina Marie Fugate of
Winfield; grandchildren, Victoria,
Tommy and Natasha Gillispie, Jason
and Crystal Richardson, and Christian
and Savannah Fugate; one brother,
LeRoy Gillispie of Mendota; three
sisters, Sandra (Lee) Stanford of
Mendota, Carrie Gillispie of Cherry
and Brenda Gillispie of Sandwich; the
mother of his children, Mae Gillispie
of Winfield; and many nieces, nephews,
great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his
parents and a half sister, Faye Stiles.
