Warren W. Peasley, 76, of Mendota
died Aug. 16, 2012, in his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. John's
Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Restland
Cemetery with full military rites by Mendota VFW
Post 4079. The Rev. Dale Peterson will officiate.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday in Merritt
Funeral Home, Mendota.
Mr. Peasley was born Aug. 3, 1936, in
Heyworth to Woodrow and Nettie (Kerchner)
Peasley, and was raised in Mendota by his mother
and stepfather, Roger D. Mahar. He married
Norma Jean Eich on Jan 4, 1959.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps 1953-56 in
Okinawa, Japan. He was a 1955 graduate of
Mendota High School.
He was a long-haul truck driver until his retirement.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran
Church.
He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed
spending his time with family and friends. He was
very active in his grandchildren's lives.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Mark
(Gayle) Peasley of Mendota; two daughters, Luann
(Bill) Schmidt of Manchester, Tenn., and Carrie
(Jim) Delhotal of Mendota; seven grandchildren,
Ashley, Aaron, Adam and Austin Schmidt, Gabbi
Peasley and Justin and Cady Delhotal; and four
brothers; Edward Peasley of Hemet, Calif., Jim
(Sandy) Mahar of Amboy, Steve Peasley of Iowa
and Dick Peasley of Iowa.
He was preceded in death by one brother.

Lutheran Church, Illinois Valley Hospice or
Horizon House.
