Warren M. Setchell, 86, of Mendota died Nov. 1, 2008, in Mendota Community Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. The Rev. Michael Morrell will officiate. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Mr. Setchell was born Jan. 1, 1922, in Mendota to Mark and Maude (Cromwell) Setchell. He married Dixene Harrielle on Feb. 5, 1944. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He farmed in the Mendota and Triumph areas. He was employed by Illinois Secretary of State offices in Mendota and La Salle, and Doden Silo for several years. Survivors are one daughter, Anita (Jeff) Ruberg of Leland; one son, Doug (Sheryl) Setchell of Ashford, Wash.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife on March 18, 2008; three grandchildren; and one sister. Memorials may be directed to Wisner Cemetery.
