Wayne L. Manning, 69, of 601 Division St., Mendota died June 11, 2009, in his residence. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with deacon Raymond Fischer officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4079. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. He was born May 1, 1940, in Mendota to Earl and Myrtle (Hampton) Manning. He served with the U.S. Army and worked at Del Monte for 30 years before retiring. He was an emergency medical technician for Mendota Ambulance. He was a member of the American Legion and Mendota Moose Lodge. He is survived by two sons, David (Jodi) Manning of Mendota and Steven (Valerie) Manning of Mendota; one daughter, Peggy Dinges of Mendota; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Jerry (Jane) Manning of Mendota, Sonny (Ellen) Manning of Arizona, and Rick (Mary) Meyers of Mendota; and one sister, Janet (Eugene) Thomas of Mendota. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Memorials may be directed to the family.
