Wesley R. Williams, Jr., 58, of Mendota passed away Jan. 20, 2017 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26 at Holy Cross Church, Mendota with Rev. Joel Phelps officiating. At Wesley's request, he will be cremated with private burial at a later date. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. Pallbearers will be Eric Williams, James Beatty, Derrick Schultz, Joe Skora, Scott Borelli and Shawn Soliman.
Wes was born Jan. 13, 1959 in Newport News, Va. to Wesley and Lorraine (Jardine) Williams. He married Patricia Resetich on April 20, 1987.
Survivors include his wife of Mendota; one son, Eric of Mendota; four daughters, Jennifer (Anthony) Tomkiewicz of Plainfield, Kimberly and Rachel Williams, both of Mendota, and Julie (Joe) Skora of Salem, Wis.; three sisters, Kerrin (Doug) Schultz of Denver, Colo., Keira Zapien of Hampton, Va. and Kenna (David) Rockey of Yorktown, Va.; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Barbara; and one sister, Diance Spence.
Wes graduated from Libertyville High School. He worked at Precision Coatings in Spring Valley from 1989-2001 and was then maintenance supervisor at Mendota Community Hospital (now OSF) until his accident in 2015. He was a member of Holy Cross Parish and the Mendota Elks Lodge. He loved camping and being outdoors with his family and friends, cooking, classic rock music, old westerns, reading, working around the house and doing yard work. His family, grandchildren and friends were his passion and delight.
