Wilbur C. Ferrell, 89, of Mendota died Nov. 7, 2013, in Heritage Health,
Mendota.
Services will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.
The Rev. Michael Morrell will officiate. Private family burial will be at
Riverview Cemetery, Marseilles.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
Mr. Ferrell was born April 20, 1924, in Brockton to Coakley and Christine
(Coffey) Ferrell. He married Constance Scherer on Sept. 6, 1954. She died
in 1968.
He married Mary Robeson on Dec. 29, 1991, in Mendota.
He was a truck driver employed by Henderson Trucking in Seneca and
later by Boren Blasting in Marseilles. Before retirement he was employed by
Agri-Builders of Mendota.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mendota.
Survivors are his wife, Mary of Mendota; one daughter, Vickie Wilcoxen
of Joliet; three stepsons, John (Karen) Sweet of Marseilles, Greg DeMoss of
Marseilles and John Robeson of Mendota; one stepdaughter, Kay Quinlan
of Princeton; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three sisters,
Juanita Baratta of Ottawa and Elizabeth Kehoe and Mabel Guynn, both of
Marseilles.
He was preceded in death by his first wife; one sister, Marge Kehoe; one
brother, Jay C. Ferrell; two stepsisters; and one stepdaughter, Edna Miller.
Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church or to the
donor's choice.
