William Burgess, 70, of West Brooklyn died Nov. 22, 2008, in Mendota Community Hospital. There will be no services. Arrangements were provided by Merritt Funeral Home. Mr. Burgess was born June 24, 1938, in Vienna to William and Marvie (Alsip) Burgess. He married Judy Ely on Oct. 28, 1961, in Lisle. He was employed by Caterpillar for 33 years. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Julie Schinzer of Sublette and Kelly Cochrane of Florida; three grandchildren; and one sister, Marie Carlen of Bonnie. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Memorials may be directed to Mendota Community Hospital.
