William M. Lorey, 87, of Mendota died Feb. 15, 2016, in Manor Court.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church, Mendota, with the Rev. Michael Morrell officiating. Burial will be at Mount Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.
William was born April 16, 1928, in Streator to William and Gladys (Reynolds) Lorey. He married Eleanor VanDerMolen; she preceded him in death in 1995. He later married Ellen Agnew on March 15, 1998.
He was a graduate of Freeport High School and the University of Illinois. He was employed by Internal Revenue Service and National Credit Union before his retirement.
He was a member of Elmhurst Masonic Lodge, Shriners and Mendota Elks Lodge 1212. He enjoyed playing cards and was a fan of the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Bears.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen of Mendota; one daughter, Susan Wasmer of Mendota; two sons, Dave Lorey of Arlington Heights and Bill Lorey of Alpharetta, Ga.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren, and nine step-great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Jeffrey W. Plapp of DeKalb and Gregory A. Plapp of Rockford; and two stepdaughters; Christine Wheelock of LaCrosse, Wis., and Sharon L. Miller of Richland Center, Wis.
