William Lewis Stuart, 70, of Mendota, passed away Friday, August 28, 2026, at his home. He was born November 6, 1955, in Mendota, the son of Lester and Esther (nee Ferguson) Stuart.

Bill later proudly earned his GED and held various positions throughout his life. He married Lesley Ann Alteri on June 5, 2004, in Niagara Falls. He was a good man who had a wonderful sense of humor and a good heart. He would go out of his way to help anybody.

Bill liked watching movies and listening to music. He also really enjoyed the outdoors and spending time in nature and found great joy in gardening. He had a deep love for animals. He was an avid cyclist who loved riding his electric bike and taking memorable camping trips. 

Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Lesley; a brother, Mark (Sara) Stuart; a sister, Marilyn Borri; and several nieces, nephews, and two great nieces.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation care has been provided by the Horner-Merritt Funeral Home in Mendota.
