Wilma M. Scott, 85, of Mendota died Nov. 26, 2008, in Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Mendota. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Dale Peterson officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is 2-5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. She was born Feb. 21, 1923, to John and Amelia Schmidt. She married Edward Scott on Nov. 16, 1943. She was employed as a cook at Curl Inn in Triumph for a number of years. She is survived by five sons, John (Elizabeth) Scott of Gratiot, Wis., Paul Scott of Tonica, Michael (Kay) Scott of Mendota, Richard (Louise) Scott of Mendota and Edward (Andrea) Scott of West Brooklyn; three daughters, Wanda Parker of Kansas, Susan Scott of Bethalto and Amy Husband of Stillman Valley; 25 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald (Velma) Schmidt of Mendota; one sister, Dorothy Burkart of Mendota; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 7, 2000; one son, Steve; one daughter, Marsha; and one great-grandson. Memorials may be directed to the activity fund at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Mendota.
