Yetta Lorenzana, 89, of Mendota Lutheran Home died May 7, 2011, in the home. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Community United Methodist Church, LaMoille, with the Revs. Sangmyung Park and Jerry Graham officiating. Private burial will be at a later date in Union Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Merritt Funeral Home Mendota, provided the arrangements. She was born May 23, 1921, in Chicago to Jack and Dorothy (Siegel) Shanfeld. She married Stanley Lorenzana on March 14, 1940. She was a member of Community United Methodist Church, LaMoille, United Methodist Women in Worth and LaMoille and served on various church committees. She was a member of the school board and the library board in Chicago Ridge. She volunteered at Greenfield Retirement Home in Princeton for more than 20 years. She is survived by one son, Bruce Lorenzana of Mesquite, Texas; two daughters, Sandra (Donald) Schultz of Mendota and Cheryl (Rod) Lucas of Crown Point, Ind.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Mervin (Edith) Shanfeld of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2002, one son and two grandchildren in infancy. Memorials may be directed to Community United Methodist Church, LaMoille, Mendota Lutheran Home or LaMoille Ambulance Service.
